Goldie’s story · Part two

When Goldie was brought into our care, it was clear she had been nursing. While she needed treatment herself, that discovery raised another urgent question: where were her kittens?
Finding an answer took persistence. There were repeated visits and careful questions as we tried to piece together where she had been living and whether any kitten remained alive.
Eventually, a surviving kitten was located.

The immediate task was to help the kitten receive care. Feeding equipment, formula and basic care instructions were provided on the spot.
Goldie’s rescue had begun with a visibly ill cat who needed to be taken off a cold floor and brought to safety. But bringing her in had revealed another life that needed attention.

This part of rescue is less visible. It happens after the first veterinary visit and away from the photographs: returning, asking again and following up when the answers are incomplete.
For Goldie, care meant treating her illness and giving her time to recover. It also meant paying attention to what her condition told us about the life she had left behind.

A surviving kitten was found because that search continued.
