Help Us Complete the Recovery of the CatsHope™ Family
CatsHope™ is a volunteer-led rescue dedicated to giving abandoned and vulnerable cats a second chance.
Earlier this year, our rescue family experienced the first colony-wide respiratory outbreak in our history. Over almost two months, many of our resident cats became ill. Some recovered quickly, while others required weeks of nursing care, veterinary treatment and close monitoring. One of our cats, Angel, became critically ill and required hospitalisation.
Through the dedication of our veterinary teams, the kindness of our supporters and many weeks of perseverance, the outbreak was eventually brought under control.
Now we face the final stage of recovery.
Only after our veterinarians confirmed that it was safe to proceed could our vaccination programme resume.
On 10 June, nine of our resident cats were finally well enough to receive their first vaccinations following the outbreak. Their booster vaccinations are scheduled for 10 August.
The remaining five resident cats were unable to begin their vaccinations while the outbreak was active. Each will now require a full two-dose vaccination course.
This means 19 vaccination appointments still need to be completed.
Your support will help provide:
- Booster vaccinations for nine resident cats.
- Two vaccinations each for the remaining five resident cats.
- Deworming treatments where appropriate.
- Safe transport to and from the veterinary clinic.
- Ongoing veterinary care where required.
Completing these vaccinations is an important milestone in protecting the health of the CatsHope™ family and helping reduce the risk of future outbreaks.
Why We Are Sharing This Appeal
CatsHope™ believes in transparency and accountability. Below is the first page of one of the SPCA veterinary invoices relating to our vaccination programme. It is shared to help supporters understand the veterinary costs involved in caring for our rescue cats.
The cost of vaccinations, consultations, deworming and parasite treatments varies between veterinary clinics. As future vaccinations may be carried out at private veterinary clinics, the final charges may differ from those shown on this invoice.
The invoice shown also does not include the additional costs of transporting and handling the cats for their veterinary appointments. To ensure that the remaining vaccination programme can be completed, CatsHope is seeking to raise approximately SGD 1,500 through this appeal.
