Remembering Felix: A Beloved Rescue Cat Gone Too Soon
Felix was once a young cat in need of a second chance.
He was only about a year old when he was rescued by CatsHope™, together with other cats from a hoarding situation involving 14 cats. His difficult beginning could have defined his life—but instead, Felix was fortunate to meet someone who opened both his home and his heart to him.
That person was Ben.
Ben lovingly adopted Felix and welcomed him into his family. We will always be grateful to Ben for his compassionate heart and for giving Felix the opportunity to know what it meant to be safe, cherished and truly at home.
Ben is himself no stranger to helping animals in need. Over the years, he has rescued cats and dogs, extending his compassion to animals who needed someone to care.
When Felix joined him, he became part of this loving furmily.
For the years that followed, Felix was no longer a rescued cat looking for somewhere to belong.
He was home.

A Loving Furmily
Felix grew into a magnificent black, long-haired cat with unforgettable golden eyes. Photographs of his life with Ben show a cat surrounded by companionship—not only by the human who loved him, but by the other cats and dogs who shared his home.
This was the life that adoption gave Felix.
From a young cat rescued from a hoarding situation, he became a beloved member of a family.
And for several precious years, Ben and Felix shared that life together.

A Sudden and Heartbreaking Loss
Then, in June 2026, tragedy struck.
Felix suddenly became ill. The cause of his illness was unknown, and his condition deteriorated rapidly. Despite efforts to save him, Felix passed away on 26 June 2026.
He was gone far too soon.
At the veterinary clinic, attempts were made to resuscitate Felix, but sadly, they were unsuccessful.
For Ben, the loss was devastating.
In sharing the heartbreaking news with family and friends, he wrote:
“We are heartbroken, but grateful that he knew a life filled with love, comfort, and family.”
The following day, on 27 June 2026, Felix was given a private memorial and cremation service. Surrounded by flowers and handwritten messages of love, a much-loved member of the family was laid to rest.
On his final resting box were the words:
Follow That Rainbow.

Standing With the Person Who Said Yes
Today, Ben is left not only grieving the sudden loss of Felix, but also facing the financial burden of Felix’s final medical care, the emergency attempt to resuscitate him, and his funeral and cremation expenses.
At CatsHope™, we believe that rescue does not simply end when an animal is adopted.
When someone opens their heart and home to a rescued animal, they become an essential part of that animal’s rescue story.
Ben was the person who said yes to Felix.
He took in a young rescued cat and gave him years of love, security and belonging. He gave Felix a home when Felix needed one. And throughout Felix’s life, he gave him something that every rescued animal deserves—the certainty of knowing that he was family.
Today, we hope that our community can stand beside Ben in return.

Follow That Rainbow, Felix
Felix’s story began with rescue.
But rescue was not the most important thing that happened to him.
Love was.
Felix found a home. He found companionship. He found a family. And for the years he shared with Ben, he knew that he belonged.
We thank Ben for giving our rescued Felix those precious years and for loving him all the way to the end.
Follow that rainbow, dear Felix.
Run free. You were deeply loved, and you will always be remembered.
At the time of publication, approximately S$650 of Felix’s final medical and funeral expenses remains outstanding. Contributions are made directly to Ben, and CatsHope™ does not receive or administer the funds raised through this appeal. We will check in with Ben and update this appeal, or close it as appropriate, within two weeks of publication.
Please donate generously.
Your contribution will help ease the burden of Felix’s final medical care and farewell—and, by supporting a compassionate adopter and rescuer like Ben, your kindness could help make it possible for another animal in need to be rescued and given a second chance.
Your contribution could help save another life.
