🐾 Desperate and Hungry Enough to Follow
This one did not stay hidden.
It followed.
It called out.
It came close.
Close enough to reach.
Grabbing at legs —
not out of aggression,
but out of desperation.
It was not cautious.
Not distant.
Just hungry enough
to ignore fear.
Food was brought down.
It ate.
Quickly.
Without pause.
As if it had been waiting
for longer than a day.
And after that,
it did not leave.
It lay under the parked car.
Still.
Not because it was safe.
Not because it was comfortable.
But because it was exhausted.
🧭 When hunger reaches this point
Hunger changes behaviour.
A cat that should keep away
begins to follow.
A life that should hide
comes close enough to touch.
Not because it trusts —
but because it has no choice.
⚠️ This is the reality
Some cats struggle more than others
to find homes.
Preferences matter.
White cats.
Ginger cats.
Easier to place.
Others are passed over —
again and again.
And when they are abandoned,
they remain outside longer.
Until hunger brings them
to the edge of what they can endure.
❤️ Why this matters
A single feeding helps.
But it does not resolve the condition.
Without support,
this continues.
With support,
it changes.
