“Mimi Dolly Guli, On her way to CatsHope™”
After being trapped and found to be already sterilised, Mimi Dolly Guli was given a chance that many street cats never receive — a foster placement while her future was being decided.

Why Mimi Dolly Guli Became an Honorary Mascot
Most honorary mascots earn their place because of the lives they lived.Mimi Dolly Guli earned hers because of the lives she touched.
She was never intended to stay permanently at CatsHope™.She arrived as a foster cat, a temporary guest on her way to her forever home.Yet during that brief period, she became part of one of the most significant chapters in our history.
Shortly after her arrival and vaccination, a respiratory illness swept through the household.Cat after cat became affected. Some experienced mild symptoms.Others became seriously ill.
Angel’s condition deteriorated so severely that she required hospitalisation, resulting in veterinary bills that eventually exceeded several thousand dollars.
“Angel in Hospital” Angel’s hospitalisation marked the turning point of the outbreak. During the weeks that followed, every decision centred on helping the colony recover.

For two months, our lives revolved around monitoring temperatures, administering medications, encouraging reluctant cats to eat, maintaining strict hygiene protocols, and doing everything possible to help the colony recover. The experience was exhausting, frightening, and expensive. But it was also educational. It forced us into a new chapter in the considerations of long-term colony management.
We were undergoing renovations when Mimi Dolly arrived. We accepted her because she had nowhere else to go but the streets if we had not. There were mitigating circumstances which led to the events that resulted in the epidemic. As parents worry for their children, CatsHope™ worried over their colony.
Through no fault of her own, Mimi Dolly Guli became the cat at the centre of a story that changed all of us.She reminded us how interconnected rescue work can be.
How one cat’s journey can affect many others. How compassion often requires perseverance. And how even difficult experiences can leave behind valuable lessons.
Most importantly, she brought together a remarkable chain of people.
The finder who noticed her.

Nigel who trapped her.
The veterinary teams who cared for her.
Tracy, who opened her heart before they had even met.
And everyone who helped along the way.
For these reasons, and for the role she played in one of the most memorable chapters of our journey, Mimi Dolly Guli was given a special place within the CatsHope™ family.
Not as a resident mascot.
Not as a former resident.
But as something uniquely her own.
An Honorary Mascot.
Forever remembered.
Forever part of our story.
And here we share the lessons we learned along the way because life is an ongoing learning experience.
But to understand why Mimi Dolly Guli touched so many hearts, we have to go back to where her journey began…
